Deceiver, on the other hand, is an immature record with cringeworthy lyrics and few hooks.
Great...First of all, the album is definately not immature. He wrote most of these songs probably about his marriage and the changes he has gone through. Second, this person would have noticed that the lyrics actually mean something if they had listened to it a little more. Cringeworthy???? What?? Few hooks??? What are you talking about?
Hearing him sing his own naive songs on Deceiver, which are often cluttered by busy arrangements he likely thinks are cool, is decidedly unpleasant.
Okay...To be quite honest, I thought it was a little busy when I first listened to it. But it gradually grew on me and I realized that it all fell into place, like a jig-saw puzzle of rhythm. But to call him arrogant with his music, that just makes me mad.
Anyway...It just makes me mad when people listen to the record once, if that, and immeadiately smash the artist to pieces.
