N.C. and Bela Fleck

Does anyone know if Nickel Creek will tour with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Bela is going to be doing a show in my city in September and I want to know if there is a chance that Nickel Creek will be joining him. I live in Southern California, so maybe they will have time to play with Bela. If anyone knows any information, please reply. I will get tickets if Nickel Creek will be there, even though I have never heard Bela. It would be the only chance that I could see N.C. in the near future. I really want to meet Sean, as well as Sara and Chris. I hope they do come with Bela. Thanks

Although I can't answer your question as to whether or not Nickel Creek will be on tour with Bela Fleck, I feel I have to spread the love for the Flecktones.
Although I had heard of them before the concert at which they played with Nickel Creek, I had never been exposed to any of their music. (All I can say is thank god it's all instrumental, that way you can look like you know it, without having to sing along :D ).

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are incredible musicians. They put on an amazing live show, and personally, I think tickets to a concert with the Flecktones (even without Nickel Creek) would be a wise buy.

According to both NC and the Flecktones web sites tour listing, it looks like the two bands aren't playing together anymore for the rest of the summer, but as cabriogirl has advised, I would have to say - See the Flecktones anyway!!! I promise you will not regret seeing them live. If you are into awesome instrumental music that is beyond genre classification and if you want to be able to tell people you have witnessed the BEST banjo player in the world, the BEST electric bass player in the world, and a wonderful sax player, not to mention futureman and his one of a kind synth-axe-drumitar, well then - see the Flecktones. The only risk involved is that once you see them, you will want to get into their music.

Nickel Creek played in the time slot prior to Bela at Summerfest in Milwaukee last Saturday...Bela came out and did a couple of songs with them...it was great. They weren't billed as touring together, even though that's how it turned out. I agree, it's worth buying the tickets to see Bela even if NC isn't touring with them.

I saw NC perform with Bela and the Flecktones on the 26th. It was fantastic. If you ever have the opportunity to see these two talented groups of people perform together...TAKE IT!
