I thought I'd just let everyone know that Nickel Creek is featured in the new issue of Paste magazine. Not only is there a delightful article of page 88, but Best of Luck (which seems like kind of like a weird choice....I would've thought When in Rome...) is on the CD sampler. Exciting times for all of us Creeksters with all of this publicity!

I tried 3x to access Paste's site-it
doesn't work... Can you send me the
article? Thanks-talk to you later on!

I have a subscription to the magazine, I didn't read it online.

Paste tends to not put their articles online - not all of them anyway. If it were just a review, I could type that, but this is a fairly long article, and I do not have the time or typing skills for that. It is a very good article, and I would encourage anyone to go find a copy of Paste and read it. Basically, the reporter follows the various members around for awhile -- sort of a day in the life of Nickel Creek. I believe he goes to a Watkins Family Hour show and Chris Thile solo show. At some point, the reporter is with them while they eat wine, cheese and hot dogs -- funny. I was sad to hear about Chris' divorce. There's also some talk about the various houses they live in -- they've got'em all over the place.

Best of Luck is also featured on the free cd that subscribers get. I was so happy to be able to listen to it in my car today -- sounds better than I imagined.

Yes, Paste is an excellent magazine even without Nickel Creek in it. Even better with them of course.

They just raised the cover price for this issue because they are now including the CD and the DVD on the newsstand. Previously, the DVD was only available to subscribers. Whatever the price, it's worth it. This is simply an excellent magazine.

I had a subscription, but my radio station gets 2 or 3 free copies every month. I always get to claim one as my own.

I read every issue of Paste, No Depression, Harp, and Performing Songwriter. Paste is the one I spend the most time with. It's usually worth it for the CD alone.

i entirely agree, the articles are so well written that no other magazine I know of compares! The cd is chock full of relevant songs by artists discussed in each magazine and the DVD is full of music videos, short films, live songs, etc! I'm glad they are packaging the DVD for newsstand people now!

The latest Paste Magazine contains a delightful interview with Nickel Creek:

Read the article. (http://www.pastemagazine.com/action/article?article_id=2051)

Yes, I read it earlier. That is the best article I have ever read about them. Very well written and it really gives you a sense of what their lives are like.

I was going to buy the magazine, but it was almost $8! I am not paying that...not after I just spend $60 dollars on NC concert tickets!

It's a really good piece that I think reflects their personalities really well (from what I know of them) - I'd love to see the pictures that go with it but it's impossible to get hold of it in the UK and the postage for an issue would cost me a fortune. Oh well, it was good of them to put it online for poor old foreigners like me!
