Someone gave me an unlabeled casette in college that I loved, but never who it was. Now that I've heard Nickel Creek, I think it might have been them. Does anyone know of any releases before 2000?

Yeah they released something called... Little Cowpoke I believe. But they've said something like they don't think the quality of the music was very good so they don't list it as one of the albums they've done (Hence why it isn't on the Music page)

Wasn't there also a self released cassette? I've seen pics floating around this board of it & I believe a few members have it... though, since I don't, I can't verify the date.

It had some songs from the ST official release and a few others I think? Hmm, hmm. I wish I could remember better than that (or at least who had it... was it you, goose? Or Bart??) [think har

Nickel Creek partial discography (http://www.nickelcreekfans.com/information/disco/disco.html)

I think that the cassette listed at the top of this discography actually comes chronologically between Little Cowpoke and Here To There.

My guess would be that it is Here to There. Little Cowpoke really sounds very different because they were so young and the Nickel Creek cassette is so rare and I'm guessing (haven't heard it) that it sounds more traditional. At least Here to There sounds like them.

Okay...I've looked up and listened to Little Cowpoke, Here to There, and their self-titled album...none of them are the casette I used to have. Does anyone know if any of the members of Nickel Creek have ever done any other projects (I've checked out all of their solo albums)?

There is a self-released cassette only that Adyn referred to, but I have never seen and it is very rare. Would be curious to know the song titles on it. I'm guessing that is what it is.

I did some poking around and it was Bart that had posted about the tape. But no more information other than it's called A Nickels Worth

Bart wassss gonna post a scan and the list of songs, so maybe if we all bat our eyelashes and look pathetic he'll do it someday LOL.

Here's one thread mentioning it...

A Nickels Worth (http://www.nickelcreek.info/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2961&highlight=tape)

But if that's what you had, you should go play the lottery... I think your odds of coming across that one are VERRRY slim. So you should put that luck to good use :D

Weeellll, jeepers. I don't have either tape so I can't say one way or the other... but the one listed on the NickelCreekFans site is not called A Nickels Worth so, there may be 2 different self released tapes floating around out there?

You're right. That's what happens when you post at work and try to get work done. Smacks self across the head, but no one is home.

Maybe you could post some of the lyrics of the songs that are on this tape to help folks here figure out what it is.

I came to that same conclusion when we first talked about these cassettes in a thread here a couple of years ago. But I've never seen either of them other than the image in that discography.
