View Full Version : What TV Shows should NC be on?

I want to start writing shows like Letterman, Leno & Ferguson to get them on to promote WSTFD and be heard by a wide variety of music starved folks.

What shows might be good to contact?

Apparently they're about to be on Leno...is it next Tuesday? Somebody with the facts help us out here.

Yes, they're on Leno next Tuesday the 9th, the day the album comes out. I'm guessing that's why the Amoeba show is at 8:00 (most shows at Amoeba are at 7:00), to give them more time to get over there after the Leno shoot, which runs ~4:30 to 5:30.

What an incredibly high profile gig for the first week of CD sales. I can't wait to watch and see how this impacts the charts. This should definitely expose them to some people who would otherwise not know about this release and the group.

I think they are going to be on Conan and 2nd Cup Cafe later on in September.

Reality show...that's funny. It might be neat to see a behind the scenes look...but no reality show.

I'd be really sad to see them on a reality show. I firmly believe that reality TV is dumbing down the country, one pointless hour at a time.

Reality show= really cheesy and NOT the Nickel Creek style.

Please no Reality Show. Maybe a movie one day...

Meanwhile I think we should write to The Charlie Rose Show. It's on PBS. Charlie has had Dave Matthews, Bela Fleck, Fish, Bruce Springsteen, Classical Musicians, as well as many other artists. It's one show where they can sit and talk about their art. And he sometimes has the guests play as well.

I really think this is a good venue on tv for NC. Here's a link:

I recall Charlie had fish on because he got so many emails requesting he have them as guests. It just might work if we all write. :)

I just sent this email:

Please invite Nickel Creek the young prodigies who are transitioning from Bluegrass to a new genre all their own. Their playing is superior and they don't quite fit in anywhere despite having a huge fan base because of the exciting live shows.

Thanks for considering Nickel Creek.

ELLEN! they should totally be on Ellen!
I dunno what made me think that really besides that seeing Chris and Ellen on the same stage being crazy would just be... crazy. ;)

ELLEN and Chris..that would just be too much. It would be like when Al Roker goes on Conan...just trying to up each other. It would be great though.

Try Jimmy Kimmel live. He tends to be off the beaten track. For that matter, how about Saturday Night Live, maybe have them tackle a bit of acting (is that what it is).

I think Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel are both great show ideas. Please drop them an email and suggest they have Nickel Creek on.

And I want to mention Charlie Rose again because it is a very intellectual program and Charlie wants to understand the music and the people. I would love to hear them on that show. Plus they will get at least 15 minutes if not more with no commericals!!

I'd love to see them on Ellen! I'd comment on the other people, but I don't watch enough TV to know who they are (I'm more addicted to the net, it's interactive ^^)

Indeed I did. I'd never heard of them and actually only one guy from the band was on just before they called it quits.

The point though is that the fans wrote Charlie Rose and got him on the show.

So, is everybody writing Ellen and politely asking her to have Nickel Creek on the show? Here's where you do it:

http://ellen.warnerbros.com/funstuff/onyourmind/

I wrote this: Please, please, pretty please have Nickel Creek on your show. They are so much fun and have a new CD out Why Should the Fire Die.
Nickel Creek fans think your show and they would be a perfect fit.

Please check them out:

Thanks so much for considering Nickel Creek as guests.
