Did anyone else notice the copyrights at the end of each song. Doing a little logic I think I have figured out what each means.
These are what each of the band members call their company
Sean: Perfect Left Music
Sara: Fiddle and Fall Music
Chris: Mad German Music
Producer: Queen's Counsel Music
Am I right? Did they do this on the other albums and I didn't notice?
I think they are cute names. They sound like they match each of the member of the band.

haha cute!
I didn't know Chris was German...I just thought he visited & liked the country and also because of Beethoven/Bach/Mozart... although I did infer he has some understanding of the language... you'd think I'd put that all together. Clearly, not my brightest moment...

That's what I put together, the 'Mad German' suits Chris, doesn't it? ;)

Yes, Mad German does seem to suit Chris...Mad anything really. Even if he wasn't German, I think he would think it was a cool name.
But I think all of the names suit each of them. I love Sean's name(as I do everything Sean does..) Perfect Left...go leftys!

Hmm, I mostly Ukrainian, my last name (Not Nar-ser which is a name I put together myself) means New land/garden (Nar-ser means fire love lol). Those names do fit them well, and they're funny ^^

I'm not sure if Queen's Counsel music is the producer's copyright after all - I was looking at my This Side liner the other day and, whilst I don't have it to hand right now, a lot of the songs on it had the Queen's Counsel listed - the producers on WSTFD are different so surely they would have a different copyright than the TS producers? I think last time Chris' songs were under SouthWest Melody Co (I think - can't check right now whether that's the exact name or not) and I thought that Sean was Queen's Counsel. I'll double-check tonight and have a look at the first CD too - I've got all curious now!
I agree with Sara's - fiddling and falling are two of my favourite things to do! Hehe...

hehehe, i wonder if she would say falling is one of her favourite things... or if she just picked those two because fiddling and falling are the two she does most. :)
i remember her journal entry a while back about falling... i wonder if she ever did learn to skateboard?
ok so on self-titled, Chris' and Sean's copyright is Southern Melody Pub. Co. for all the songs they wrote on there.
on This Side Sean is under Queen's Counsel... as they are on Let it Fall.
However, on 26 Miles, they are all listed as Perfect Left.
and on Deceiver, all of the songs are listed as Mad German.
(i happened to have my giant CD case right by my computer)
Perhaps they have different copyrights for different types of songs?

Thanks for the clarification chickzilla! It drives me crazy when I can only half-think of stuff and can't check it right there and then! Perhaps Chris and Sean just grew out of their old monikers and wanted names that were more personal than professional-sounding than when they were younger and trying to establish themselves and serious musicians...now they're more confident, they can choose names that are more fun and suit their personalities more. Just a thought...
I do a lot of falling too (due to my distinct lack of grace in my movements - not even 3 years of ballet solved that one, more's the pity) and a lot of my favourite songs have the word 'fall' in the title. My last boyfriend used to (affectionately) call me Lady Falls-A-Lot - might use the term for a song/poem someday...

I like the Mad German. It reminds me of one of my friend's dad. He's very german lol, but not really crazy, nor does he get angry a lot, I'm just never sure when he's being sarcastic or serious... Kinda unnerving lol

Maybe Sara's Fiddle and Fall means she likes Fiddles and she likes Fall (the season).

I was wondering what Sean's copyright meant, but now that I read someone's thing about it, maybe he truly is a lefty and does everything else with his right hand. Did anyone notice that for the picture next to Somebody More Like You he is playing lefty. I have never noticed him to do that in concert or on tv or anything else like that.

It seems, based upon the liner notes for WSTFD, that Queen's Counsel Music would be a whole-band publishing company, whereas the others: Mad German, Fiddle and Fall and Perfect Left would be those of the respective players/song authors.
Queen's Counsel is not attached to the producers, because it appears on other albums...
This has changed since the last albums: most everything on the self-titled album was published under Southern Melody Music, then This Side was published under Southern Melody and Queen's Counsel.
Interesting to go back and check it out...
