Putting it all into words...

Ok, I have had all of these thoughts swimming in my head for three days now about this album. It has been driving me crazy! I just couldn't put my thoughts into words...

It took me awhile, but I think I finally got out what I wanted to say.

I know how you feel PrincessNic about having all kinds of thoughts running through your mind. I've been going through the same thing. I agree with a lot of what you wrote in your blog, especially about how songs like Best of Luck sound so different, but then really liking them. I think we need to remember that Nickel Creek have given us three very distinct albums that we can enjoy, each different, but each wonderful.

I wondered how familar with the songs you were. I have felt compltely out of loop for quite a while now, feeling a little left out reading about all these songs people were hearing at their shows. I think that's why I didn't instantly love the album. My mind was still set on how they sounded on This Side, all the while they were evolving their music more and more. They havn't been to San Diego in a long time, unless I somehow missed them.

Anyway, I am seeing them perform on Saturday and can't wait.

I think it is hard when you haven't heard the songs. I had heard some of them before, but they have changed a lot. After you are so used to hearing them a certain way it does take a couple of listens to get used to a new sound...and it is new. But This Side was different also...and I ended up loving that album.
