When I went to the NC site some months ago to check on the new album release date, I saw the link to preorder. At that time (June 21st) it said the first 100 to preorder would be signed. It was more expensive than if I waited and bught it locally after release (17.23) but I wanted the signed copy. A few weeks later I saw they had posted that the first 100 had sold out (so I felt lucky to have gotten 1 of the 100 offered)
Yesterday I got my CD in the mail and...
it's the LE cardboard case, no signed anything.
So I called Musictoday this morning and pretty much all I got was Well maybe the first 100 were sold already Then why was it still being sold under that premise for 2 weeks after my order? All we can do is offer a full refund I'm not going to do that, the album/band are incredible, but I'm certain you'll have a ton of complaints on this one

Anyone else hit this issue? [bang]

Aw, that's dissapointing :(

Sounds like they sold out quickly & the notice of being sold out was not posted immediately. It's kind of a gamble thing, if you hit it the first day, odds are you SHOULD get one... but with the bands popularity growing I'd say not even that is a guarantee.

When I did the Deciever preorder, I didn't know if I made it in the top 100 till my CD arrived... I knew I was taking a chance and hoped for the best.

Hopefully you'll get a chance to have them sign it in person, and it won't seem so bad... but sorry to hear of your dissapointment.

For the most part I think things have run really well and it's cool that they offer that autograph chance at all. And, you are supporting the band much more directly that buying it at WalMart for $10. For whatever that's worth. LOL

The new CD is great. I have all 3 (including the SACD which sounds great) and Deceiver. So I'm more than happy to support the band and I in NO way hold any of this against them. I just think the company dropped the ball changing the preorder ad when it sold out. So it's just the matter of paying for shipping I could have saved by buying locally. All in all it's WORTH 18.00 so...next album I'll be more careful [noise]

I guess it was rather tricky of them to offer the first 100 signed! deal when they already knew they were out (when I bought mine, it said on the confirmation page that mine was not one of the first 100...so I knew, but not until after my credit card was processed.)

Nevertheless, I got Deceiver pre-signed and from that I found that it's more fun to wait after a concert and get the sigs. There's just something more about it.

Absolutely better to get it directly from the band. It makes it more personalized for sure (and most will change it up so each is unique).

Well, I think that musictoday.com, the company that handles their merch now is just not all that great. I had a bad experience myself when trying to order Deceiver. I had ordered online and pre-ordered if I remember correctly. I waited til like a week or two after the cd was released in stores and still didn't have it. Then, I called and found out that the order didn't go through b/c of something about my credit card. So, then, I had to order it again. So, then, after about two weeks, I got a Dave Matthews band cd with no receipt or anything. I had to call again and found out that they had sent the wrong cd. So, then, I still had to send it back, but I gave up on ordering and just got a refund or something. So, after all that, I ended up still having to buy the cd at a store, and by then it was way after the cd had been released. I was so mad. That's why this time I just waited and bought it from the store.

I know what you mean....I preordered on the day those emails went out, and by the time i got the email, i think i ordered only a few minutes afterwards....and sure enough, i still didn't get a signed one. Oh well i didn't think I would anyway, it's cool i'm the most unlucky person in the world so i'm used to it haha.

I ordered from the Sugar Hill site instead. I ordered on the first day that they announced the 100 signed copies promotion, and I ordered two of them.

I got them both in the mail three days BEFORE the release date. One was a gift for my daughter, the other a gift for my sister. (I got my own copy as an airplay copy several weeks earlier.)

I ordered my cd within 10 minutes of the pre-order being opened. I didn't get a signed copy. In fact my order was number 00032. I was sure I had gotten one, but was a little disapointed last tuesday. Well at least until I put the cd in.

hee hee. I love that pic. Do you know what the deal was w/ all those little girl clips and those glasses? Did someone give them to him or something?

How do you accomplish that? Can you teach us to do it? <g>

I went to order the signed copy but it actually said they were sold out on the preorder page.
