I have a question...I live in a city that only has one country station but it boasts they have more than a million listeners. For such a huge radio station they are a little slow. Only within the last two months or so have they been playing 'When You Come Back Down' and everyone has been all about NC here now (it's about time!) they recently cracked the top 20 and the deejays are always saying, Here is Nickel Creek by request... That is good and all, I'm glad they are finally getting some play here, but is there a new single yet from This Side being played on radio stations anywhere else in the country? Did other stations play WYCBD? Do they play NC on the radio where you live?

Crystal We have one country radio station here in San Diego. I listen to it mornings during my walk, and have yet to hear any NC song.

I guess this is not unusual. I think many country stations stick to either very traditional country music or very popular country/rock/pop....or whatever you call it music. Pity.

There are many country stations were I live but no stations that play bluegrass (at least that I am aware of). A couple stations have played NC some but I have only heard them on the radio once, maybe twice, even though I listen to the radio quite a bit. :(

Living in Boston, I am fortunate enough to have 3 Country radio stations to listen to. I don't get the chance to listen to the radio as often as I would like, but I have only heard one station (out of Providence RI) play The Lighthouse's Tale. It's unfortunate a lot of people are missing out on great music. The good thing is it was in the top 10 of the most requested songs for the day, so if given the chance, people want to hear NC!

I wonder if Chip or Matt have any thoughts about the worth of us writing or calling stations to request NC?

I would think that in areas where there are more than one country or bluegrass station...the competition would make them sensitive to listeners requests. Our one station here probably couldn't care less...they're all we have. Now that we have digital cable, we can get many radio stations through the tv. But...it's so awkward, carrying that big tv and cable box on my shoulders when I take my walks...

LOL Jaceyhomen...

Thanks for the responses guys, I thought I was getting ripped off while I should be thankful to be hearing anything at all.

I am in one other fan club and I know that we are encouaged to vote like crazy for videos on CMT and request songs at the radio station, but getting through to a program manager in a city that dosen't currently play NC could be a lot harder. It's such a shame that if your name isn't Faith, Tim, Shania or Dixie getting recognized by the mainstream country stations can be an uphill battle. (That's the way it seems here, not slamming those guys, I just need some variety!)

Maybe the record company and mangement is planning an attack on radio with this new album. NC seems to be holding their own very well as is, but I know I'm not alone in saying that I would love to see NC get all the exposure they can get.

we will let you know closer to time- we are working with [sugarhillholly] who is running the street teams for sugar hill- and have some plans for things liek that- remember the new single will hit rock stations more than country- but it shoudl get a pretty good amount of airplay, based on the marketing aims i have heard....

when it is time for you guys to work, we will send a forum wide email- and hopefully everyone can get together- as the street teams and this forum will make a huge dent in the success of the cd hitting
