Hey all :)
I was hoping to use Ode To A Butterfly for my second year showreel in animation as it just seems to fit perfectly. I know that I need to get permission and pay any money for copyrights and so I wanted to ask who and where would be the best to contact? I'm really not expecting to be able to use this song but I may as well give it a try :)

If you're planning to use Nickel Creek's recording of it, then you'd need to contact Sugar Hill records.

Thanks for helping. I have contacted the media side of it (from the NC website) so will let you know if I get anything :)

This is where you go to get the use of a copywrite.
I would have thought they would have taught that in second year showreel in animation class

Wonderful way to reply to an innocent inquiry.
P.S. It's copyRIGHT...I would have thought they would have taught that in 3rd grade English class...C-O-R...R you going to the mall later today is what I'm asking...

You know you are right. I had a mind fart and I spelled it wrong, and I guess I came off too strong but I would have thought they would have taught that in that class.
And they did teach that in 3rd grade english...and what year did they teach the class on manners that you skipped out on?

Yeaaa, I guess your right. It is definitly bad manners to defend someone. I stand corrected.

In order to Defend must you offend?
Like I said I did come across to hard maybe but If I was taking a class where I would be using other peoples music as background for my work. And the class was teaching me to do a job latter in life where I would also be doing this don't you think the class should yeach the students how to go about this?
