Nickel Creek & John Mayer???

My brother found some recordings labeled John Mayer-Nickel Creek, maybe someone mislabeled them?? All I know is that you didn't really hear anything Nickel Creek about them ...

I think that they toured together a few years ago. Probably back to the 2001-2002 era.

i think that those recordings have a little NC on them, like Sean playing guitar in one of the songs, and them singing back up to John singing Walk on the Ocean which is neither of their songs.
but i am not sure, i got rid of them a while ago, when my brief (15 minutes) fling with John Mayer was over.

Walk on the Ocean is by Toad the Wet Sprocket. Yes, imagine that. Yeah, I can do without John Mayer too. If I remember correctly, the Creek opened some shows for him.

there was a skam online where a bunch of songs were mis labeled several year ago.. make sure it isn't them...

On file-sharing programs, a lot of JM tunes were labeled John Mayer - Nickel Creek so when you searched for either/or, they'd pop up.

Wow I love John Mayer except for the fact that he can't sing and he wrote the song Your Body is a Wonderland . I would have loved to have seen him and NC together. John is such a great guitar player and lyricist (again with Your Body is a Wonderland as an excpetion).

It's probably a skam, but the thought of them playing together is........well.......interesting

the recording of jon mayer and nickel creek doing walk on the ocean is with Glen Phillips, there is no nickel creek with them.

There is a beautiful song called Tori that I found labeled John Mayer-Nickel Creek. I think if I listen really hard I can hear Chris harmonizing but I can't be sure. But regardless it's a wonderful song.

^ That song Tori was also called Victoria and was released on John's demo CD kind of thing, Inside Wants Out. I have it and unfortunately no Chris or NC in the credits. I'm guessing that this is a skam.

I haven't heard too much of him, but what I have isn't horrible ... it's not something I'd listen to over and over and over like NC ... but ...

Well, I like John Mayer. And I remember listening to a radio interview of NC when they were touring with him in which they claimed him a great singer. (Not sure they said great , but they really liked his singing).

Were they asked what they thought of his singing? Or did they randomly say his singing was good?

I personally can't stand his singing. I think he is an excellent guitar player and songwriter, even writes some pretty good lyrics, but his singing sucks. He always sounds like he's making out with the microphone.

^ Funny. I like John Mayer's music, but I know that as a person I would totally hate him. The singing is not so great, but I think it's cool that he's so different from other stupid male pop singers.

He is absolutely HILARIOUS though. He had a TV show once, and I spent the entire 30 minutes laughing my head off at the idiot things he was doing. Nickel Creek should do something like that. The world needs to see more of them.

That TV show was pretty funny, Mayer has an awesome personality. He just does his own thing, kind of like Chris.

Yes, the John Mayer show was pretty hilarious. I wish he would have made more episodes. I would like him more if he acted like that. He kind of seems a little pompous on stage though. Speaking of (and trying to stay on topic) Nickel Creek should do a show like that. I can imagine it would funny too!

I am positive, they did some songs together. My ex, had a few of them on her computer, she had seen them tour together and then got the songs some how. Yet, her computer's CPU failed on her and had to get it replaced, needles to say, the songs she had are now gone.
