well, I chose to preorder my copy of This Side from Nickel Creek themselves (in their official store)!! why? a few reasons I guess...

for one, it says that there will be autographed versions given away at random to people who preorder from Nickel Creek.

And, I guess I feel better about putting more money in the band's hands rather than in the corporate giant that is Amazon.com.

Plus, I don't need to have radio-quality streaming of the album when I can download the whole thing on IRC anyway! All I REALLY want is to have the CD, the complete package, and feel like I did my part in staying close to Nickel Creek.

Who knows, maybe I'll even get one of those autographed copies!

Are you on THIS SIDE or that?

I just received an e-mail from Nickel Creek saying that when you preorder from nickelcreek.com you get access to an unreleased live version of the fox!

I ordered off amazon.com because the price was so low, and I didn't even realize that the price at Nickelcreek.com was the same! I wasn't planning on listening to any clips of the CD or anything, and when I ordered off amazon, I didn't know I was going to get the stream. It just popped up and of course, by then, I was addicted to it. I've still only allowed myself to listen to 4 songs, but I feel great when I hear them. I hope NC will still get a lot of my money, but I do sorta feel bad. Actually, by ordering from there, I did help this site a little, so I sorta feel better. Its alright though, my chances of getting an autographed one were slim to none (but I still want one). I can't have everything! I could always get mine signed at concert I guess. Let us know if you get lucky!

Keep in mind that NC gets royalties whether you buy from Amazon through us, from MusicToday through the NC site, or from your local record store.

We really have no strong feeling about *where* you should buy... we're just offering a convenient link and, at the same time, helping to cover some of our overhead costs that aren't already covered.
