This Side Cover

every where I have seen on this board the design for the This Side CD is art work and not a photo of NC. But today in the mail I got an order booklet for Columbia House CD club which I belong to, and there was an insert that says JUST RELIESED... AND WE'VE GOT THEM! On that order page it had NC's This Side listed and has a picture of an album, but the album cover isn't the art work, it is a photo of Sara, Sean, and Chris. Sara has a dark colored dress on with spaggetti straps, Sean has a dark color T-shirt on and Chris has blue jeans, a neon green shirt with a blue tie and a dark colored coat on. Does any one know if the CD will come out with 2 different covers? I like the photo one better than the art work one my self.

Two possibilities:

Record clubs often cut deals with labels to do their own pressings of discs. The record club gets the disc really cheap, the artist and label get paid less, but they get a LOT wider distribution. And sometimes, the record club version has different artwork.

The other possibility is that Columbia House went to press on the insert based on what they received in the promo version of the CD. (There's a copy of the front and back of the promo disc here (http://www.nickelcreek.info/this_side_front_web.jpg)

i have seen/heard their new album - thanks to the pop music critic at the newspaper i work at - and i think the picture you are describing is the one they have in their new cd - it's the photo where the disc is placed - if you take the cd out of the case, you can see the photo . . . . but i think it is in black and white (i don't remember chris wearing a green coat . . . )
