Only an hour and five minutes til showtime people!! I really need to go to the store and buy some of those adult diapers because I'm peein in my pants just thinking about it!!!! I'm most definetly recording it on my Nickel Creek Tape (yes, I have a tape devoted to every time I've seen Nickel Creek on TV). I got another TAPE yesterday, guess what it was? Only a hardcore fan would have this, and I highly recommend it.... Chris Thile's Essential Techniques for Mandolin!! He's so awesome. He even show you how to play Ode To A Butterfly (music included in video box) step by step!! I'm so excited!! Now all I have to do is take a few lessons...

WOW! WOW! WOW! THAT VIDEO IS AWESOME! YAY! I LOVE HOW THEY ARE SINGING TO THE WALL! THE INTERVIEW WAS GREAT TOO! I TAPED IT AND HAVE WATCHED IT AT LEAST TEN TIMES, AND IT JUST PREMIERED AN HOUR AGO! I LOVE NICKEL CREEK! IM SO EXCITED! I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I SAW THE VIDEO...I CRIED! OMG!

I loved every moment of the video and the interview. Wow!! I'm speechless. That is one of the best songs I've heard in a while. Does anyone know who wrote it? I think it was Chris. Who knows. Also, Katie Cook said NC will be performing live, but I missed the date. Was it August 26? Keep raving, and please let me know.

OMG what an amazing interview and video! I locked the door early where I work so I could rush home and see it. I got there just in time, but I taped it too! I agree, I love how they were singing to the wall. And I had no idea when I heard the clip for the song online that it was Sean singing lead....YEAH, it's about time. I LOVE it! Those extras in the video were lucky people! Wish I could have been one!

Yeah, at first when I saw Chris's hair I was like whoa. then i was like hmm.... then I was like wow, he's hot.

Sean.....wow, he looked good. Not that looks are all that's important but MAN is he a hottie!!

I sadly missed the video priemere and interview BUT I had a good reason-I was at Bible study and I didn't tape it because I didn't ahve a tape but hearing you guys talk about it-I REALLY WANT TO SEE IT.
Here's my deal: I am on summer project with Campus Crusade for Christ and I work all day and then we have activities all night, so I don't know if I'll be able to catch it. But I'm sure I will sometime-they'll probably play it a lot and it will be on the countdown, so I'll catch it sometime.
That's cool Glen's in it-sweet-can't wait to see it! I'll be stalking the CMT schedule all day.

I had to work until 10 at my lil Nursing home, but I came home and watched the repeat of CRL @ 11pm. They were so cute!!! You can tell that they are totally real.... Yes, Chris's hair is a bit much... Sean did look really good... Sara looked really happy to be there. Hey April- I'm in Campus Crusade @ Ohio State!! But we call it Real Life. Anyhoo...Peace Out Cub Scouts!

:D I loved the new video. It looked like they had so much fun making the video. Sean looked REALLY good and I loved Sarah's hair in the video. It was so nice to hear Sean singing! He really has a great voice!! I just wished that all those people in the video would have been us-all their great fans here on the board, that would have been SO cool!! Can't wait till they're on again in August and absolutely can't wait to get this new CD!!!!!!!

That video is IN-Cred-IB-Le!!! The interview was sooo hilarious!! I would have loved to see Chris with his shirt off dancing around the studio!!! Look out August 23!! Nickel Creek will be back!! Let's put this side at number one every week!! Glen Phillips...I thought that was him, wasn't sure but now I am.. And Chris's hair, Here's my summary:
Stage ONE: Chris Thile makes Essential Techniques for Mandolin - the hair; mop top
Stage TWO: Here To There comes out - the hair; cute little I'm a 12 year old boy buzz cut, makes his face look huge
Stage THREE: Nickel Creek is released - the hair; completely vertical, way too much hair gel for his own good (If you don't believe me, look at the cover of Nickel Creek, its VERTICAL!!)
Stage FOUR: Nickel Creek begins touring - the hair; still way too much hair gel, but instead of vertical, just kind of...spikey (look at pictures on nickelcreek.com, especially Merlefest shots)

[lloll] Casey, your post is hillarious! I tried to call for the CD but stupid me wrote the number down wrong! Oh, well. Anyway, I thought that was Glen too. I also taped the show and have only watched it five times so far:) . I didn't quite know what to think of the video and song at first but now I am starting to love it! I can't wait to hear more! [noise]

Also, one of my friends who I am trying to get into NC watched the show and loved the video and thought the interview was funny too. He said Chris' hair was..........well, I don't think he quite knew what to think of it. And, he said he thought Sean looked like he had on too much makeup or something. When I watched it again, I saw what he was talking about but his arms kinda looked the same way. Maybe he used a self tanner or something:p . Don't get me wrong though, I think he looked really good overall and the last thing I would want to do is talk down about Sean. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed or thought the same thing.

chris has wild man hair!! but i like it, it really suits him, b/c well...he's crazy chris.

i thought sara was really pretty in the video and every so cute in the interview. she was a little giddy and just happy.

sean sean sean!! aah what a cutie, lol. he looks like hes been workin out. lol, i just looked at his arms and it just looks like he has been liftin weights or something. ok now i sound retarded, oh well i can't help it.

i think i am gonna go watch it again now, lol

OMG!! I thought the video was great. It was so lighthearted. It's nice to see them smiling so much. I was lol at them singing to the wall. It's a neat concept. And the story they told about the director and Chris dancing with their shirts off was hilarious.

I actually think that Chris's hair looked cute now, despite my initial reaction.
And I agree Sara's hair looked really pretty in the video. The comment about Sean wearing too much makeup. I don't think so, he probably just is really tan. I think people don't realize that it's sunny practically every day here in SD. I think he looked cute nonentheless.

One last thing. Does anyone else think Katie is a bad interviewer? The last time they were on she asked really bad questions. This time was better, but I still was hoping Lance would do it. Especially since it SHOULD still be his show. Ok that was my little rant.

I'm going to go watch it again. I'm glad I not the only one who tapes these things.

I agree! I quit watching it simply b/c of katie and greg! I love lance soo much better (plus he's cuter) lol She is WAY too ditzy for me to be entertained for a long period of time. Of course the only reason why I watched it then was because of Nickel Creek ! I really like the video! Where is Glenn in the video?

I agree that because it is Chris, Sean, and Sara being interviewed that I can deal. I think they always present themselves well, and they definitely have no control over what ?'s will be asked. I did like this one because they told some funny stories. And did anyone else notice that many times Sara started to try and talk and then Chris would say something.
Anyway gtg. I can't wait for Aug 23rd.

:D I am so excited about the new video. Sean's voice is so amazing! I don't know why he didn't sing on their old album, but I am glad he has the lead on This Side.

I thought it was so funny that the director and Chris took off their shirts and danced around to make Sean smile. People always tell me to smile more, I guess sean and I have something in common! The song does have a pop sound, I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, did anyone else notice that in the interview, Chris was wearing the same outfit that he was wearing when NC was on Got Me In With The Band with Vince Gill? I had to go find my tape of that show to be sure, but yep, it's the same. Wow, that's sad, I even have NC's wardrobe memorized!

I didn't even notice him the first time I watched the new video, but I just saw it again, and Glen's the one who moves the couch away from the wall into the middle of room and then sits on the right end of it.

Also, I liked the shot of the picture of the album cover hanging on the wall at the end. I wonder if Chris's cryptic comments about the cover during the interview meant anything or if it is just an inside joke?

Ok, I just have to add to the whole recognizing the clothes thing. The shirt that Sean is wearing during the interview is the same one he wore when I saw NC in concert in Atlanta in April! I was giddy when I first noticed it and was like, hey I have a picture of me with him in that shirt, but my family just kinda laughed at me. I am glad there's others who can relate to me! Thanks guys, it's nice to have other people know the way you're feeling!

I saw it last night! In my excitement, I forgot to look for Glen, so once again I'll have to amuse my 6 roommates and keep the TV on CMT. My roommate Kitty said the last thing she heard before she went to sleep was, It's on! heheheh-oops.
It was SO GOOD-I love it. It's very unique and I love the concept. Sean has sucha nice smile and his voice is great-I've heard it before, but just thought I'd mention it again.

Back to the clothes, the outfir Chris wears in the actual video is exactly the same outfit he wore when I saw him and Edgar Meyer in concert in Greensboro, NC. There's patch on the back that says RC and it kinda looks like Chris pinned it there. If you look close in the video, you can see the patch but not the letters. Its weird, Sara looked great. That shirt in the vid is really cool with the long back. Do you think they wear their own clothes or have a wardrobe???

I HATE the fact that i dont have cable!!! [bang] I lucked out and was able to see the video from CMT.COM. I swear I've must of seen the video like 25 times already! But i would of LOVED to see the interview :( I saw they are gonna be on GAC on monday so i guess ill be over at my sis's recording that!! My family thinks I'm Obsessed with them.....and i'll admit it I am....*stands up* my name is jennifer and I'm a Creek-a-holic But why deny yourself of something that makes you so happy and doesn't hurt a soul? Hmmmm....I kinda verged off the topic there. *heh*

OK. I know I am way behind in the discussion here but I just wanted to say that I feel kinda bad about what I said about Sean looking like he had on too much makeup. Sorry, I take it back.

nitejule, I too noticed what you said about him looking like he had been working out but I just had too much to say to mention everything, so that got left out. And, I think I like Chris' hair too now that I have seen it a few times. It fits him to have crazy looking hair. It's cool.

About the clothes, I appreciate the fact that they wear things more than once. It makes me feel like they are more like the rest of us than some big lofty *stars* or something.

Concerning Katy and Greg, I think Katy is OK; don't care too much for Greg. I wish that Lance still did the show too. And, I think that Heather Joel and the other guy (I think he was her brother; can't remember his name) were better than Katy and Greg. Anybody remember them? By the way, here's an off topic trivial tid bit for those of you who like the Newsboys: Heather is married to one of the members. I can't remember his first name (I just know it's the one who's last name is Joel).

sorry for my comments being behind, no computer for a while:o

i managed to record the video about 3 days ago and this was my reaction --->:-)) :-)) :-)) i didnt know it was possible to become more in love with the band, and more in love with Chris :D (isnt it a little scary when him AND his brother appear in my house having lunch, in my dreams?):p
i think the video completely captures the essence they have when they perform live, complete with the dancing and the reaction they get from the audience. The little special effects are awesome (esp. when they show Sara at the different angles) Ive already listened to the song more than 100000 times, and already have the opening riff picked out on the mandolin, guitar AND fiddle :D and to the rest of my families disapproval, i continue to listen to the song over and over again.
Chris's hair...i love it! but you know, its hard not to love his hair, even when it was flat down, Chris is amazing, talented, and super super super super super cute with any hair :D
Katie and Greg....well i can make do without Katie, though you know she tries hard, and if i have to listen to her to watch my Creeksters, OK! :D :D but if i had to choose who to interview Nickel Creek, i think it would have to be......me! lol
