Hey folks,

Can anyone tell me the name of the Bach piece that Chris played for the encore in Birmingham, September 22? (I suppose he includes this same piece in any encore of the tour.) I talked my music appreciation teacher into letting me do a paper on N.C. for credit, and I need to be able to reference the piece by name. Chris announced the name of the piece, but I didn't hear all that he said due to some pretty bad echo in the Stephens Center. (Something or other with petitas I think.)

For any band members who may be reading, the show was great!

Thanks!

Steven

At very least I'll spell partita correctly! :-) Thanks!

Can anyone else confirm or deny that it's Partita number 5?

That gives me 10 more possibilities to check out! I did find a MIDI score of Partita #5, but I didn't recognize it from that. I'll check out your suggestions. Thanks!

To BHMSteven,

Check out Fugue #9 in E Major. I saw them in both Dallas on 9/13 and Tulsa on 9/16, and can safely say Thile played that piece in both cities.

I found a huge site where the examples given are played by a REAL piano (not midi):
Fugue No. 9: E Major (Well-Tempered Clavier Book I) (http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~tas3/wtc/i09.html#movie)

Good luck in the search.
