Anyone else attending the concert on November 16th? Maybe we could band together and take over the awesome seats. :D

I'm still deciding lol... It's General Admission so there's no rush really. I can't decide between Athens on the 16th or ATL on the 17th.

I shall be on vacation visiting my brother that week in Georgia and hope to get to both shows if possible. I want to join in on all of the Georgia fun!!!!!! He actually lives somewhere between the two cities.

the reason i chose Melting Point was because i was definitely impressed by Chris' show there with Mike Marshall in January. and also by the fact that afterwards they came out and had drinks and really did hang out with everyone that was there, since such a relatively few people fit in the venue.
and i do like the GA seating, because i found that the seats i had last time, in the balcony right next to the upstairs bar, were ideal for that show acoustically and visually. i might try to snag the same seats this time, or try another place. but i liked looking down on the action instead of straining my neck to look up, and still being pretty much just as close to the action as from the front row.

Yeah the Melting Point is definitely one of the coolest venues I have ever been to. I love the fact that u can order food and drink(s) while you arent even sitting a table! And it's very intimate, even from the 2nd floor b/c you are still really close... you could have a conversation with anyone on stage from pretty much anywhere in the venue. I was sitting on the right side of the balcony during the show in January and it was amazing acoustically and visually... I think I want to go back to the Melting Point even though I have never been to the Variety Playhouse.

I won 2 tickets on ebay for $10.50 for the show at the Variety Playhouse. Before I won the auction I assumed it was for Athens b/c I got the dates mixed up, but no biggie. Plus it turned out to be the only time that my scheduled allowed for.
I'm still excited. It's gonna be a riot. [noise]

So I made it to both the Athens and the Atlanta shows. Both were awesome. I love the Melting Point because it is so intimate. Their can't be a bad seat in the house. They did an amazing version of Raining At Sunset for the last encore that made me very happy. Brakemen's Blues was a highlight as always plus I'm Nowhere and You're Everything, Song For a Young Queen, and Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground amongst others. An obnoxious man kept yelling out for Bruce Hornsby's Mandolin Rain and Chris finally had enough and pretended to shoot him down out of the balcony with his mando. Very funny.
The Atlanta show was in a bigger theater and was just as enjoyable. The set list was similar with a couple different new songs and Radiohead's Morning Bell as the last encore this time. The bigger crowd led to a more lively audience and both theaters sounded great. They seemed to having a wonderful time at both shows. They interact really well with each other.
So where are the rest of you? I met Chickzilla(Rhiannon) at the Athens show and Red Zep(Chris) at the Atlanta show. I know you are out there and some others are too.
A couple of great nights of music. I was sad to leave Georgia after that.

I was there. Third row at the Atlanta show. All I can say is it was absolutely incredible. No other words.
Ophelia was definitely the hightlight of the evening. Gabe can REALLY sing! The harmonies were so perfect, I just freaked out. And Chris was hilarious as always, with MANY witty comments that had me laughing like crazy.
I met all the guys after the show, and they're all such cool people.
Oh and Manchicken was pretty awesome too...

I don't know how I could have forgotten Ophelia as that's been one of the highlights of each of the shows that I've seen. I like what they've done with Manchicken since I saw them in Nashville. Very funny.

well i thought the Athens show was awesome, and it was definitely a highlight in general both to meet a new people (though i guess we already knew each other E, hm?) and have amazing music... and then talking to Gabe and Chris after (i am not sure which conversation was more gratifying really, they were both a little backwards in the star-struck realm, i thought THEY were the celebs.) was THE highlight for sure.
i just can't wait to get to see them again somehow. even better would be all of NC but i take what i can get.
