The Nickel Creek website says they will be on CBS Saturday morning, August 14th... does anyone know which is correct? Or both?

Im so happy to see NC on TV again! The last time they were on was probably when they did the Conan or Leno shows! They've been gone a while...but YAY! They're back!

Well Christy , I have got me in with the band, MWL (of course), the Leno preformance, the Conan preformance (i'm 80% sure at least), and the CMA preformance (or whatever show it was that they preformed on.) I def dont have all of their appearances but if ya tell me which ones you want ill try my best to figure out how to use 2 vcrs at the same time and copy them!

And Sarah, I was told today that the show comes on at 9AM where I live. Im in WV so i don't know if thats in the same time zone as you or not!hope that helps!

yeah if you could make me a tape that is kewl!!! if not you could always send me the tapes and i could make them and send you back yours. i record stuff all the time and people want it so i have 2 vcrs in my room, lol

Ok, well, I am heading off to my uncles house in FL in 2 days and I will be gone for 2 weeks, but I will take the tapes down there bc he is an electronic whiz and Im sure he can record them for me, then when I get back I'll send em to ya!

well i think ill be able to be on them some while im in FL bc my uncle has a computer.....but hopefully I wont get too far behind! what sucks is that ill be there when the new album comes out so i wont really get to be here <and by here i mean on the boards> to hear all the discussion when everyone hears the album! But I had my pre-ordered copy shipped to my uncles house so at least i know i'll get the album!

Well, I liked the CBS Sunday Morning Nickel Creek segment. One error....they said the band (while still 6, 6 and 10) called themselves Nickel Creek. They were the Little Cowpokes then.

And...much as I enjoyed it, it was interesting that CBS pigeon holed them as strickly bluegrass, almost in a traditional way.

Still, a nice addtion to our taped NC performances and personal appearances.

Actually, I think that Little Cowpoke was the name of their first album. On the front of the CD case (a great CD even though I can't even recognize their voices on it) it says LITTLE COWPOKE at the top and at the bottom it says The Nickel Creek Band.

Unless they changed their name from Little Cowpokes to Nickel Creek before the album was released, I think that they have always been Nickel Creek. But I could be wrong!

And yeah, I do agree that they placed them as almost traditional bluegrass...or at least that seemed to be the vibe of the segment. But I guess they HAD to, until there is an official music genre named Nickel Creek. Because I really don't think that there is ANY genre that really defines NC...they are a mix of soo many different styles that it would be impossible to put them into any one category!

CBS thing was awesome!! It was great to see them performing as little kids and the stuff showing Chris and his dad was so cool. Another CBS non fan error..... they said they were called Nickel Creek (not really sure if they actually were at that time, but they were at one time called Seldom Clean, it said so in the interview on LAUNCH) and named after an old bluegrass tune. Nickel Creek was the name of a song their friend wrote, not an old bluegrass tune! ARRGGGHHH!! It was still real cool, so look for them on TV again. CBS Saturday Morning Show, August 17, (hopefully it'll be a live one since This Side will have just come out!) and again on MWL August 23. Happy Creekin'!

Melanie Thanks for the info. I was almost right! But I do wonder when the Little Cowpoke band actually became the Nickel Creek band. I know I read that someplace, and I thought it was well after Little Cowpoke could no longer be called Little, but I can't remember exactly when or how the change came about.

I'm so glad I was watching t.v. this morning. It's such a great program but I don't always get a chance to watch it and I've been too busy to check the site and I was just about on my way out today too. !! I got lucky! I was able to record it.
