Is there any word of opening access to more live NC. There is a short ep on itunes, a couple of live tracks on the new compilation(which are floating around out there with that full show in some places) and probably loads of individual copies of shows--but concentrated, edited soundboards available for download would be pretty sweet. The model that Bruce Hornsby uses--releasing about a dozen shows or less a year--would be a way to satisfy fans and keep some revenue coming in after they stop touring and playing. SCI, Ratdog, and others have decent models too. At the very least it would be nice to get a nice recording out of this next year's shows.

It would certainly appeal to alot of devoted fans and would serve as an archive of their career performing live.

I am assuming masters of most if not all of their shows exist under the control of the band--which would be a prerequisite.

No, that's not the case. They did not make routine recordings of their shows. I'm sure there are enough that were recorded, though, to give them some options.

The word seems to be that they are going to do a live DVD. Whether or not that becomes a live CD/DVD remains to be seen. I wouldn't bet on the live CD part from what I've heard.

I think alot of bands don't do as strong a job as they could in recording and protecting their shows. These guys have been playing for so long and started so young--it may not have been a priority.

It would seem certain that at least over the last several years someone has been tasked with that.

Ultimately it would be great if they opened up audience recordings to the internet archive--like alot of bands do and restrict but release at least some soundboards--enough to be representative of their music and its progressions.
