Speak(The Song)

I've been listening to this song (via the cmt song a day website) and I can hear whispers in the background of the song. I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to what was being said. I think this is a really cool and interesting effect, and I LOVE the song. Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of rap, and I got my name from a friend(for an online game). I've heard about the Big Tymer's, but I've never heard anything they've done.

After listening to the new CD for a couple weeks now (I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy from Sugar Hill), I still find myself gravitating most strongly to Speak.

There are many, many strong tracks on the record, but that one in particular is just really appealing. I hope it's single #2 off of the album :)

This song is really starting to grow on me too. As for what is being said in the whispering, I'm probably going way out on a limb here, as I have no fancy audio equipment or anything, but here is what I'm hearing:

During the first whispering part, around 0:37 to 0:47 seconds into the song, I can't make out anything, except during the pause between the lyrics I can't speak (pause) without messing up, I hear it was the first time whispered.

During the second part, with Sara singing the chorus, around 2:37 to to 2:47, I hear the following [unintelligible] so much like her/it seems like hours/[unintelligible] I haven't slept for 6 days since I saw [unintelligible].

Anyways, that's just for your consideration. It'll probably turn out it is just someone reading from the San Diego phone book.

The only line I could make out was something like six and six is twelve ... I could be losing my mind, though. It's hard to tell sometimes! Has anyone else heard that part? Again, I could be wrong. I will have to keep listening.

of course that's the song i listened to at my friend's house- so i can't listen to it anymore and i was playing with the dogs at the time so i can't remember what it was like!!!!!![bang] well i guess i'll have to wait about 7 days until i can hear it again:(

Has Anyone figured it out yet? I think I can hear at the end of the 2nd chorus six days and six nights when I was twelve, but I can't make out any of it really.

I agree, that should be the #2 single (if any of this CD is suitable for single release). When I first popped in the CD, I was digging it, but when Sean started singing that 3rd track, I was bowled over by both those clever lyrics (that I can totally relate to) and also his beautiful voice timbre. Plus the song has a groove that will not quit -- and what a cool ending!

Speaking of which, anybody else noticed how seldom they end tunes on the tonic on this CD?

I am so blown away by this CD -- I hope there will be individual threads on each tune; I have comments about each of them and want to hear others' impressions...
