O.K...
So we know that Sara will be releasing a solo album in the near future, but the question is 'What will be on it?' Does anybody have an predictions of has anyone talked to Sara? I have two possible predictions:

Jefferson
Anthony (a new version)

Other than that, maybe we'll be seeing a lot of new stuff (or old stuff I forgot). PLEASE post your predictions and ideas!

And Where Will You Be, to round out the demos she has on her MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/sarawatkinssolo).

I also remember a post somewhere on these boards that links to a show Sara did with Darol Anger sometime last summer...she plays Too Much (a David Garza song) and I think someone references that it will be on her album.

I really don't have any others to add other than the fact that I hope she doesn't do a new version of Anthony. I'm just not a fan of artists' re-recording their songs. I like it when they do it different live though.

I really don't think she will do a new version of Anthony. I wonder if she is struggling at all with having to write more songs. She could easily do a full CD of just covers and I think we would like it, but she probably wants to put more of herself into it. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the WFH songs that have been played frequently, like Hop High, Say Darling Say, In Tall Buildings, and the aformentioned Early Morning Rain. Or Different Drum or Pony from the NC shows.

Maybe also a version of that song she said her mom sang to her and that Sara played with her ukelele.

As of now we're up to:

Jefferson
Early Morning Rain
Anthony (hopefully not, to some people)
Too Much
Pony
Where Will You Be
Hop High
Say Darling Say
In Tall Buildings
Different Drum

Other new originals as mentioned in another thread...

I think you can safely remove Anthony from the list. Sara really has no good reason to redo it, and she's given absolutely no indication that she intends to.

And while you're at it, you can add 'You Belong To Me'.

Sara was at Largo last night for Chris' show (Sean too). Thought about asking her, but there didn't seem to be a good time. I didn't want to interrupt her.

I can't see why Sara would do another version of anthony. Personally I hope that she doesn't over load this album with covers, I just hope that she vibes her own trips.

When I spoke with her in September she said that there would be a new version of Anthony on the album. She also said mostly fiddle, so not as much ukulele and a few covers.

I do hope they are new covers though, not just the ones she normally plays in NC shows.

There is a song on the largo site that is just her playing fiddle called Hector the Hero. I don't know how old it is or if it's even her song, but it could be a possible one.

If she's doing Anthony, she's probably gonna do it a different way that on WStFD? (maybe with her fiddle, a remix or something)

Maybe 'You Belong To Me' will have Fiona singing backup...that's how they've been doing it the past few shows (except vice versa).
