A few weeks ago, I sent an e-mail to one of the folks selling a This Side promo copy on e-bay (I suspected--correctly--that I knew the individual personally). He did remove the item, but he rationalized to me that he was doing the purchaser a big favor by including some of the promo materials that came with the CD. Frankly, there isn't much by way of enlightenment to come from most promo materials (I speak from experienced, having written the advance promo material for the previous NC album), EXCEPT, in this case, a Cut By Cut collection of brief comments by the band about each track from this side, material not reproduced in the liner-notes of the upcoming CD. And it is fun and interesting to read.
I suggested to the e-bay'er that he should simply post the comments to a newsgroup instead of using it as an illegal selling point. No response.
So I have put the comments on my website, for anyone here who might be interested. Since SH sent this out as promo material, I can't imagine they, or the band, would object (it is being used to promote, after all). If you want to read it, click on my link (in my signature below).
