Here's a little info I found at the Carnegie Hall website. It's under the Meet the Artists section of the Tensions Mountain Boys profile, advertising their March 17th concert.

Mr. Thile has performed and recorded extensively as a duo with double bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer (with whom he will release an album in 2008) and with fellow eminent mandolinist Mike Marshall, and has plans for a project with celebrated violinist Hilary Hahn. In addition, he has collaborated with a pantheon of bluegrass innovators including Béla Fleck, Dolly Parton, The Dixie Chicks, Jerry Douglas, and Sam Bush. Next month in Zankel Hall, Mr. Meyer and pianist Emanuel Ax will perform a piece for double bass and piano that they commissioned from Mr. Thile.

Pretty cool, eh? The site is actually pretty cool-- it's got info on The Blind Leaving The Blind , the Tensions Mountain Boys new piece that they're debuting next weekend, plus all sorts of stuff on each of the band members. I simply couldn't be more excited.

When I talked to Chris and Edgar back in January, they confirmed that they are planning a release for the fall of 2008. Yes, that's a long wait, but I imagine they will follow it up with another tour perhaps in January 2009 like they did in 2005 and 2007.

Sounds good!

It s now on Chris Thile's Wikipedia article with an included source (that will spread the good word :) ).

hilary hahn + chris thile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)) :-)) that's waaay exctiting. the duo album i am waiing for is mike and hamilton's live one. it would only make sense because of mike's duo patterns. W/ darol anger: studio album, studio album, live album. With Chris: studio album, live album.....

I vote Sara Watkins, Darol Anger, and Enion Pelta do a violin trio. That would be the almighty supergroup!

I'd rather it be outstanding and wait than quickly and good.
