A couple of posts on Mandolin Cafe are pointing out that Chris just debuted a vintage Gibson in the large diapraghm mic encore that is 80+ years old and that would make it Loar. Anybody know anything about this?

He played it during the encore at the Ashland show. He said it was the first time it had been used in concert in over 80 years. From where I was sitting, it looked to be in pristine condition.

Another fan that saw them in Paducah said that he had mentioned buying it.

and Chris drinks *a lot* of Coffee. :D

It's more like $200K for a Loar these days.

Well...as Chris himself says, I'm a little lamb with a little money.
