When I talked to Sean in APril he ahd the little gotee and when I talked to him in May, he didn't have it, so I guess he got rid of it. The funny thing is, I had my picture taken with them in April and then in May I had them autograph the pics and Sean laughed when he saw it and said, I got the facial hair in all the CD and promo pics and Fielding said, Good job!
Cracks me up-what's with guys and facial hair? It makes them feel more manly, I guess!

:o I agree. Sean is cute. At the same time he's the shy one and the one who doesn't always have to but in like Chris has the tendency to do. Plus I think Sean would be more inclined to get maybe a little red-faced when someone gives him congrats on his writing, playing, and singing. Ahh, shy, young and modest he is.

I'm only guessing, but I think Sean is 5'4. I'm only 5'2 and he's not much taller than me. But I dunno. His height makes him even cuter. But the thing we need to focus on is his TALENT!!!

you're right. he is one of the best guitar players that I have ever heard. He is amazing. I bought his solo album a few weeks ago and I can't stop playing it. He's 5'4 you said, that's not bad I'm 5'5. I can't wait for his new solo cd to come out!:)

I thought I was the only one who was called vertically challenged!!! My cousins outgrew me when they were 13 (I was 16), and my brother is 14 and taller than me. (I'm 5'1 1/4--that quarter inch is very important to me!!) I get picked on all the time. And to make matters worse, my cousins are heels girls, and I'm the flip-flop girl. So, that only exaggerates the situation.

Wow! I don't feel so alone!! Being short isn't that bad. I do have a few things around the house that help me: stool for getting into the top kitchen cabinet, stool for getting stuff of the closet shelf, a knife or something to reach that cup waaaayyy in the back.....and of course, the guitar handicap. I tried on a guitar over the weekend, and It just didn't feel right. Do any of you wonderful short-small handed people play mando? I am trying so hard to hit that G-chord, and I am really getting angry!!:mad:

I have leetle hands too... I'm 5'3 dunno if that counts as short or not LOL, no way in heck can I reach the top shelves of my cabinets [lloll] The G is a strrrrretch for me on my mando, I can just barely reach it :p I play guitar too, I found that an orchestra or folk size is just about right... everything else just seemed way to big for me. Biggest problem with my little hands is those darned barre chords... which so far I have had no success with whatsoever :p But I suppose I'd rather have small than big wide fingers... I just gotta get the lil buggers to strrrrretch LOL.

anyway, I don't play guitar or mandolin, so I couldn't comment on either, and you don't really neeeed to stretch your fingers for piano, just so long as you can move them fast enough, ya know?

Fabulous!!! And I can play piano, a little. It's fun, but I no longer have access to a piano, so, I haven't touched one in years. And my fingers can move fast, especially when I am getting into a song!!! I love when a lot of people start playing together, its awesome!!

Maybe if you're young, like maybe 14 or under, you might grow more. I haven't grown since I was 13, though, so don't get too excited. What's really sad is when you're 17 and you're 13-year-old cousins are 3+ inches taller than you!!

Erika: since you asked, I will answer. Please read Chip's post Reducing unnecessary chatter (General Discussions), where he cautions us to limit innane and pointless posts. And, IMHO, this thread is innane and pointless. ;)

Chip and Matt are incredibly tolerant and patient moderators, who really want posters to have fun on this board. But they have made some good points in their attempts to keep us on track, on topic, away from the Oh. My. God. Sean. Is. Soooo. Adorable! postings. I just think we all should try to contain our enthusiasm a little and stick to discussions of music/lyrics, concerts, instruments, other artists, etc. cuz that's what this board was designed for and what the owners of the board want. No biggie.

Have you read Sean's journal in the .com site? If you're a Sean fan (and I can tell you are...) you'll enjoy it. It might be fun to talk more about the things he said and how his thoughts affect his music and lyrics. I'm sure he wouldn't mind...since he posted the journal for us all to read!

I have to agree with the intent of your post there but then again, how do we determine what is pointless? Obviously they felt it had a reason and a point or they wouldn't have continued talking about the subjects they chose. Secondly, I recall the purpose of this site is for the band and it's music, not for random chatter (Sara is Cute) but not just their music. I agree and understand that it can be annoying seeing that most of the praise given to them sometimes is just about their looks. I admit, and if any of you had read some of my posts, I talk about Sara and how kind and pretty she is, but I try to include it with something else of the social accepted relevence unless the specific topic is about her looks or some non-music quality. Looks are not everything, but it is a part. And I think talking about it as a part and not the only thing should be allowed since it is NC related vs. some of the other topics listed in the Off-topic section. Which that was previously stated by the mods that it had to be some how NC related and not just random. The discussion boards are for talk about Nickel Creek and off-topic things that are loosely related to Nickel Creek. (Reducing unnecessary chatter... staying on topic). I think for most ppl, they just sorta get burned out on talking about music the entire time. I think it would be a fair guess NC does too. what do y'all think (in response to most ppl get burned out on talking about music all the time)?

one thing chip and i are trying to work on.. is that there is a conflict of interest here on the boards between what would be considered the older audiences, and the younger [under 18 or so years old..] [as we are trying to open this board up for as many people as possible] chip and i had to make a choice that would be the best to the majority of the people.

when there is a lot of just random talk/ talking about crushes on the band nonstop- it genrally drives away people that are in the older crowd on the board. so generally conservations that start gogin in circles.. or get way off, or as chip said have 2 word posts are generally discouraged to take place on the board. [off the board where people don't have to read it- have you fun- and be random as can be] so by allowing private messages and aols names and such is why we were able to cut back on the noise on the auctuall boards... it is a compromise -especailly for the peopel who liek to talk alot, but we believe it will be best long term for the fans, and in turn for the band...


there can be some comunity- and in some aspects it is encouraged! [and chip and i have been working on getting a chat room installed here for about 6 or 7 months- but it is in a deep pile of stuff to do.. and it is almsot to the top now!- we just need to finalise the code... that will be a place more for jsut randomness/ having fun/ yakking wiht people .. what ever there you can talk in circles as much as you want.
and a lot more casuall just haning out.
aslo remember untill that is up, you have aol names and emaisl / private messages to talk to each other off the board.
