Well, I got to go to the Freight show tonight in Berkeley after seeing last night's show at Espresso Garden... and it just gets better and better.
I was commenting to a friend there that it's really such an amazing thing to see two virtuosic (if that's a word) musicians who obviously have enormous respect for each other and clearly are genuinely excited and delighted to perform together... and that's exactly what the show was. Far from just How fast can I play or what amazing lick can I pull out, it was just a really fun show with a lot of great tunes. The record will be fantastic, I'm sure... and it will probably come out on Sugar Hill. (Mike said almost finished tonight rather than finished as he said last night... I didn't hear a release date, though.)
Also spent some time with Chris after the show and he specifically asked to convey a special hello to everyone on the discussion board and a thanks for all of the support and help that the fans have given to him and to the rest of the band.
Anyone going to the Wintergrass festival will have the opportunity to see both Nickel Creek and Mike/Chris shows, as both events are happening there. Wish I could be there!
