The hand song<---what does it mean?

I am listing to the Hand song as I type these words.I want to know what the song means[think] It is really getting to me.I think it has to deal with jesus and him getting nailed into the cross. I do not know what it means[sob] I hope one of you guys could help me with this song[noise] Umm well that is al I have to say about that right now.I hope you guys reply to this.

The Hand Song has a very deep and profound Christian meaning. It's all about a mother's love for her son like God's love for us, and how the boy learns of God's love for him and us. The boy hurt his hands on the thorns of the roses that he cut for his mother, and even though the mother realizes that her roses are now dead, she knows her son did it out of love. So later when they are reading the Bible together the boy sees the scars in Jesus' hands from where he was nailed to the cross and instantly he realizes the connection. They each had scars like each others, and the boy knows what Jesus did was out of love for us. When the boy went to war he shared with his friend about God's love for us, and how he died was by sacrificing himself in order to save his friend's life. He did it out of love just like Jesus did for us!

It's a beautiful song and it made me cry the first time I heard it. I love the message Sean is sharing with us in his song. I hope this helps.

i kinda found out what it ment the first time i herad it kuz i was in an downer mood and i just thought of me being littel and being there with mom and i kinda relived it [sob]

I kinda got the impression that in the last verse, he and his friend fell in love. he gave to a friend what he learned from the cause, that doesn't imply that he gave his friend the cause. To me, it's saying that he learned love from his beliefs, instilled in him by his mother, and he gave that love to his friend, not that he gave her (him, whichever) the love that might be found in faith. That title for the song always annoys me a little though, I'd re-title it something else, but I'm not sure...any ideas?

Well, I don't think that's quite it...I mean, remember he was at war, and it was fighting that he died. And by the way the line is he gave to a friend what he learned from the cross.
