If you check the USATODAY.com's article on Nickel Creek, it says that Sara has a solo album in the works.

I'm kinda hoping it's 100% instrumental. Her solo vocals, while totally awesome, just wouldn't be the same w/o the harmonies of Sean and Chris. A 100% instrumental would allow her to show off. She's just absolutely brilliant. Can you say Pastures New?

ya she wrote somewhere that she has been working on a few songs but she wants them to be Absolutely perfect before she releases anything

yay!! yeah like someone else said, she had been working on it but wanted it to be perfect. i think she will have alot of just instrumental, but i hope she has a vocal or two.

i think that's great... Sara is sooooo incredibly talented.... i agree about the vocals, even minus Sean and Chris, i think he voice is so sweet and pure that i hope she has some solo stuff...


I thought the same thing about pastures new when i read about a solo album in the works!!!!!

Bryan-I cannot believe you of all people would say you don't think her voice would be the same without Chris and Sean!! I never thought I'd hear you speak those words since you're so devoted! lol But seriously, is it just me or does This Side really not showcase Sara's amazing playing ability? Please don't get me wrong I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new album, but there is so little fiddle on it. And when there is fiddle, it seems like it's just a touch and doesn't really showcase the incredible technique she has. I suppose this has something to do with trying to make the album more pop, but I kinda miss her on this album (as incredibly cheesy as that sounds). So I definitely would want her solo album to showcase her fiddling ability but COME ON-does Sabra girl not give you chills? Sara's voice may not be spectacularly strong, but it has a beautiful airy quality to it and I think she could sing anything she wanted with no backup at all.

finally...yes!...see..this was the kind of discussion i was complaining about the lack there of in my post. i really want her to do a solo cd for all those reasons y'all stated...and i really agree that while she is just as prevailent..if not more..on this side...the fiddling seems to have...slipped into rececess (or is it..recesses..like play time...hehe) . but maybe i'm a dork b/c of this but i'm listening to pastures new for like the first time intensely b/c of all the sara praise that i just read...i think it was the least listened to song from the old cd by me...but we're giving it another shot..well okay...umm...it ended before i finished this email..wow...it sure is short..but nice and calm..which i love them for sometimes...

yeah and sara releasing a solo cd would counter this bad idea i have had that chris and sean are really the driving writing force behind them...i wanted it to be all three..and i hope this cd goes to prove she can just as well...i'm proud of her..(eventhough it isn't out yet...just thought i would get a head start)
