I know there is another thread like this but i wanted to start one up here so that when we do get some info it can be posted in the tour section!!
they did have it on their sched and then it was removed. i have noticed that after they do some other dates over seas they have a NJ date so maybe that means they will add more dates!!
i just hope that they come to ATL b/c if not i won't be seeing them anytime soon!!

As mentioned in the other thread, I think that NC will have to go through either NY or ATL to get to and from Europe. So there is a pretty good chance of them stopping in and playing. I hope they do too b/c last year my parents wouldn't let me go and see them, it was a school night:( , and my girlfriend said it was an awesome show.

i'm floor, left side i think? row e. i actully met them in nashville. not at the ryman, but at the tower show & mwl taping. but maybe they'll come out after the show in birmingham. that'd be cool. i'm going with 2 of my friends, but i'm sitting alone so that i could have a better seat :) so if ya get lonely back there on row k, you can come find me!
Goose_17

Yeah...this has nothing to do w/ NC, but EVERYTHING to due w/ .info members. So...
I should've read this thread earlier. <hiphop>Y'all up in here representin' the ATL?!?</hiphop> Schweet!! I was born in Atlanta. Bad thing is, we left when I was 7 years old. We lived at Sandy Ln & Pinehill Dr. in Decatur. We left cause my mom got homesick and my parents drug my bother and I back to Omaha w/ them.
My point for writing...
Starting this year, I come to Atlanta every year. I was down there for a week in January. DAMN it was warm down there. My next trip won't be until next summer. The plan is to combine my annual Atlanta trip w/ next years 240SX Car Club of America convention. Anyway, I say we hook up, hang out and get down w/ our bad selves. An ATL Nickel Creek meet of .info members. What would be awesome is if the 'Creek would have a show down there the same week. That would kick hella bootie!!
shygirl32
09-17-2002, 08:04 PM
haha yeah man! that would KICK! :) we tend to get a little crazy down here in the south. ;) haha. you know how we do it! that really would be cool though. to be able to talk about nickel creek and not have people go nickel who? nickel BACK? ugh. i hate that!. *lol* anyways. yes. we should do that.

I was just wondering what happened to the Atlanta date that was posted earlier in the summer. It's not there anymore. What happened, or is happening!!!!???

And got back this:
we're moving it. keep checking back
I'm excited now!
[wowOwow] Ok everybody, I've got news on the Tabernacle show in Atlanta! If you check out pollstar.com, NC is listed to play at the Tabernacle on Oct. 11 (that's a Fri.). It says it's a new update, and it's not listed on the official NC page yet, but we can all keep our fingers crossed. Usually pollstar is generally reliable...check it out! [run] Yippeeee!!!!!!!!!! [noise]
Cheers,
~KT~

Yah!!!!! ::crosses-fingers::
I would be more inclined to trust info on nickelcreek.com than info in Pollstar.
The info in Pollstar is not infrequently wrong, incomplete, or out of date... they do a better job than anybody else does considering they are dealing with hundreds of artists, but they're constantly trying to keep up on the routings for hundreds of artists, and there's no way that anyone can do that accurately. I've also seen Pollstar include pencil dates that are an agent's wishful thinking, and not include inked dates that have been on the booking agency's roster for weeks.
Nickelcreek.com's information comes directly from the band's management, who has the final say over which shows are accepted. Their management and webmaster are very good about updating info as soon as it's available, so what we fans know is pretty much what management knows, almost as soon as they know it.
Even if the booking agency has specific information, they usually won't give it out without talking to management, and management makes sure it's posted as soon as it's available, so it's mostly pointless to try to get advance information, because there generally isn't any.
So, in other words, be patient.
As for the notion of doing a show in a gateway city that is on the way to or from Europe? Not to disappoint, but that's pretty unlikely. The logistics of Nickel Creek's show these days is a lot more complex than doing a show because they happen to be traveling to an airport nearby. Not that it's impossible, just that the strategy that goes into touring is a lot more complex than what might be apparent at first glance. But I'm sure if you're patient that the tour will eventually get around to just about every major city, at least in the US.

JUST got back from the Tabernacle, and all I have to say is WOW. that was my first time seeing Nickel Creek...what an experience. I must say my favorite moment was during The Fox when they broke into bluegrass Mario, that was incredible! :) what about you guys??

11-14-2002, 11:24 PM
yes...the only word to describe it is WOW!!! or as NC would say it CRAP!! YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! the atmosphere was incredible. we were louder than the runways at hartsfield airport!! when chris said some of us needed to go on tour to jumpstart the crowds i wanted to scream out, STAY IN ATLANTA!!! My girlfriend actually took me to the show. She went to the one at the variety playhouse last year and she said they played the mario thing there too. I just loved it! Only other band i've heard do that is Group X...and NC does it wayyyyyyy better! We were standing in the front right next to the speakers near sara. It was great!!!!! Wow, i've said that too many times tonight.

I have to agree, the show was excellent, certainly the most pumped crowd of just about any NC concert I've seen. The gang were in perfect form, and having a great time at it. When I talked with them after the show they said that they've had a lot of time off in between their touring.
I didn't keep a complete set list, but I remember that it started with Smoothie Song, Beauty and the Mess, Lighthouse, Ferdinand the Bull, and then their introductions.
Too bad there isn't a .info cheer -- I would have liked to meet a bunch of you guys. Me, I was standing about 3 feet from the stage in front of Sara.
-derek
Yep... the show was fantastic! And the crowd was SO loud! I was in front of Sean -- a few feet to the right of where most of the .info contigent was standing (from what I could tell). Great to meet Sam (mostlydead) and Marie (J. Marie Hall -- I put 2 and 2 together when I got home that that's who you are!). And good to put faces with the screennames of others, even without the chance to meet them. (I was watching from afar!!) I think I saw nitejule and warlord, based on your pics on your websites, and Sam pointed out Goose to me!
And I'm quite pooped this morning... but, off to work I go!

All of you happy .info concert goers should have a way of finding each other (assuming you want to be found....).
Derek mentioned a cheer? I am too duh to know how that would work. Maybe everybody could wear a bright red baseball cap with NC on it? Or pin huge buttons on that say .info?
I wouldn't need to do any of that. You'd know me as that cute little old broad standing almost on stage singing her little heart out. And you'd say, oh look, that must be someone's granny!

Hey. The concert was AWESOME!! I was standing right in front of Sean, and I mean right in front of him  I was looking up the whole time! He was so awesome. I was standing right next to you NiteJules, I was the one with really curly hair, oh yeah by the way what is the address to your new NC site? Anyways back to the concert. They are so awesome and down to earth. I thought it was funny how they got a little embarassed by all of our screaming, it's like they were shocked it was actually for them. I was so happy I got to meet all of them especially Sean, he is so HOT!! I definitly can't wait until they come back to Atlanta. I think the best part of the concert was the acoustic part at the end and the sing along to Spit on a Stranger And I agree the part where they played the Mario theme song was so great. I'm still in shock of how amazing they were! Have an awesome day!

Yeah...it was my third show last night and it was definitely my favorite. I talked to Sara for a second before the show. I am glad of that because everytime I leave a show without meeting the band I feel like I have totally missed out on something. I was standing with my boyfriend (grigalunas) on the complete left side of the stage (leaning on it :) ) right next to the speakers. (There were no other people to our left at the stage). Anyhow, my bf said that I said they played the mario brothers theme at the variety playhouse show but I need to make a correction, from what I remember it wasn't there it was at the Johnson City show that I went to. Sorry that may be insignificant but it would have bothered me forever (at least I don't think they played it at the variety playhouse??) Anyhow, it was no less than AWESOME last night!

I was there last night, too! It was most definetly an awesome show. I was standing near the drunk guys that kept yelling things... about 4 people were separating us. I about lept over them and attacked the drunk guys, and I'm a pacifist. I was standing near Sean, probably about 5 rows of people back, as we couldn't find the Tabernacle for the life of us. We had bad interent directions.
I was so glad that they performed Let it Fall. My dad took me last night, and he agrees with me that it was an awesome concert. My favorite part was the sing along part, even if my nose was armpit level with the really tall guys in front of me. Singing along to Nickel Creek songs... if we had been around a campfire, I would have been perfectly content.
Anywho, just thought I'd add in my 2 cents about the concert. It was my first time seeing Nickel Creek, as the other 2 opportunities I've had to see them when they came to Chattanooga, I was out of the country on missions trips. But it was well worth the wait. It's the best concert I've ever been to.

i've been jostling myself around sort of sleepily today, but i think i tote with me a bit of the energy from last night. wow! i tried to pick up my jaw (that fell periodically), but i mostly stood there happily mesmerized (sp?).
nirvana. radiohead. crowded house in the houuuuse. digging the variety over here.
tax maaaaaan!
i got the most lost in house carpenter though. strange blend of warm once in a while by sean on the guitar after some verses. i dunno technically what he did. can you help me out stringsies?
