okay, five random notes that I....noted, whilst listening to/ looking at Sean's CD.
1) the photo on the back should have been the cover. it's better. he looks a little weird on the front, at least to me. and he looks cool on the back.
2) the bonus track made me jump (you know how it suddenly jumps at you? after the gap?) and it initially dented my enjoyment of it because I also noted that...
3)...the last song is completely more jazzy than everything else. (I need a dictionary or somethin') but it grew on me!
4) Sean rocks. The whole CD is cool, let it fall is incredible!
5) Never promise to make points which you can't think of.

Haha, Taipan. That last song got me too! I love the whole album. Every song on there, especially FERDINAND, Neo, Let it Fall...
In regards to the packaging -- Sean strikes me as minimalist. Plain black CD, skimpy booklet. Plain photos. Nothing to distract from the music. This is in keeping with other perceived personality traits of his that have been discussed in other threads. We'll have to see what he puts out there when his new CD comes out. (Can't wait!)
Oh, and did I mention how much I love Ferdinand?[nod]

I think the bonus track is called, Swinging Friar. I really love Let It Fall. It is the only cd I can listen to every track without skipping one. There isn't a track on there I don't like. I think Sean did an awesome job writing, arranging, and making the whole album run together so smoothly.

Swinging Friar... I would love to hear about what inspired some of these songs. I know Neo is about the character in the Matrix, Ferdinand about the cartoon. Waterfall is cover, I think. But I dont know about the rest.

I'll just say again, I love this CD too! It's cool to hear about other people so into it as well. Especially since it is mostly instrumental.
Anyway, about the stories behind the songs, I read somewhere that the Swinging Friars is the name of some sort of sports team in California. I think it may have been basketball, but I could be way off here since I am not really into sports. I think he said that he wrote the song first and then just decided to name it that. He does that a lot.
About this song being different, it is, but I really like it because of that fact. I think he said that he decided to do it as a bonus track because he really wanted to include it but it just didn't flow with the rest of the songs. Sorry if this was obvious to everyone else, but I wondered why he did it that way at first myself.

The bonus is track is really called The Swinging Friar. That is so cool!:D
It makes pefect sense to me that he would name a song that. For those of you who are wondering the swinging friar is what we call the San Diego Padres Baseball Team's mascot. I'm a huge baseball and Padres fan and thinks it's cool that Sean would name a song after that. Now I like the song even more than I did.

I have a musical (duh!) question about the song Let it Fall:
What is going on in that song that makes it sound like there's a beat missing? Or maybe just a little off kilter? It's noticeable especially at the end with the mandolin part. I suspect that there are two different, but simultaneous, time signatures. Can anyone tell for sure?
